The 2021 World Golf Championships begin on Thursday, February 25 through Sunday, February 28 at The Concession Golf Club in the Bradenton-Sarasota area in Southwest Florida. The tournament was originally scheduled to take place in Mexico but was moved due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 2021 World Golf Championships kick off a four-week Florida Swing that includes the Arnold Palmer Invitational (March 4–7), the Players Championship (March 11–14), and the Honda Classic (March 18–21).
This year’s competition boasts several of the world’s top-ranked players. World №1 and 2020 FedExCup champion Dustin Johnson, World №2 Jon Rahm, World №4 Xander Schauffele, and two-time FedExCup champion Rory McIlroy are just a few of the big names scheduled to compete.

2021 WGC-Workday Championship odds: Surprising PGA picks, predictions from model that nailed six majors
It isn’t often that a new course becomes a host site for a World Golf Championship event, but The Concession Golf Club in Bradenton, Fla., isn’t just any course. Designed by Jack Nicklaus and Tony Jacklin in an homage of their famed 1969 Ryder Cup tie, The Concession welcomes the world’s best starting Thursday for the 2021 WGC-Workday Championship. Many of the game’s elite players are in the field, including world №1 Dustin Johnson, former №1s Rory McIlroy, Brooks Koepka and Jon Rahm, defending champion Patrick Reed and long-hitting Bryson DeChambeau.
Johnson, who counts six WGCs among his 24 PGA Tour victories, goes off as the 13–2 favorite in the 2021 WGC-Workday Championship odds from William Hill Sportsbook. Rahm is at 10–1 on the PGA odds board, while McIlroy and Xander Schauffele are both at 16–1. He also finished profitable at the U.S. Open, nailing two of his best bets, including a +1100 top-five bet on Matthew Wolff. McClure hit a top-five bet (+1200) on Doc Redman at the Wyndham Championship, finishing up over $700 on his best bets. Those are just some of his recent big hits.

One huge shocker the model is calling for at the WGC-Workday Championship 2021: Justin Thomas, a 13-time PGA Tour winner and one of the top Vegas favorites, stumbles and doesn’t even crack the top five. Thomas was one of the hottest players on tour early this season, finishing T-12 or better in each of his first six starts.
However, Thomas missed the cut last week at the Genesis Invitational after shooting a 77 in the first round. The 27-year-old enters this week’s event ranked 117th in driving accuracy percentage (59.76), which doesn’t bode well for his chances to finish on top of the leaderboard at The Concession. He’s not a strong pick to win it all and there are far better values in the WGC-Workday Championship 2021 field.
Another surprise: Joaquin Niemann, a 50–1 long shot, makes a strong run at the 2021 WGC-Workday Championship title. Niemann has a much better chance to win it all than his odds imply, so he’s a target for anyone looking for a huge payday.
The 28th-ranked player in the world, Niemann recorded two near-misses at the Sentry Tournament of Champions and Sony Open in Hawaii before taking over a month off to raise more than $2.1 million in his native Chile for an ailing infant cousin. Niemann returned to action at last week’s Genesis Invitational, shooting 67–68 early and finishing 43rd.
The winner of the 2020 Military Tribute at The Greenbrier, Niemann ranks ninth on the PGA Tour with a 313.6-yard driving distance. Couple that with a 4.86 birdie average (fifth on tour) and a 69.537 scoring average (fourth on tour), and it is no wonder Niemann is consistently in the mix. This week should be no different at The Concession, as the model loves Niemann’s potential as a value pick at the WGC-Workday Championship 2021.
